Self Sabotage: How to Get Out of Your Own Way
Are you constantly undoing all your hard work? You eat well during the week only to binge on everything in sight over the weekend. Or you spend hours coming up with awesome plans only to end up making excuses why none of it will work. Sound familiar? Well this is self sabotage.
If this is something that you struggle with, you’re not alone. Many people have a habit of spending as much energy putting barricades in their own way as they do trying to make things work.
It boggles the mind why anyone would work so hard on something only to give up on it right at the end. Why would we do that? Well mostly the answer is fear. What happens if you fail? Or worse, what happens if you succeed? There are always unknown factors to be worried about and frequently that’s enough to find a way to undo your good deeds.
Unfortunately, self sabotage is sneaky and does a great job of flying under the radar. It happens in little things you do. Just enough to stop yourself from achieving what you want without you realizing that the reason you “failed” was because we did it to yourself.
The good news is that there are very common ways that people self sabotage. In this video I’ve outlined 4 of the most popular ways we self sabotage and I explain the ways you can use to work through the behavior.
So stop barricading the way to the things you want most in life. Learn to catch yourself in the act of self sabotage and nip it in the bud. This way you can use more energy to actually get the things you want and achieve your goals.
