How to Stop Worrying About Things You Can’t Control
With everything that’s going on right now in the world, people that normally have their worry under control are struggling – myself included. Worrying is a huge waste of time and energy, but it’s so hard to quit. It seems like no matter how hard you try to stop worrying, the more you worry. That’s because trying to push away the thoughts or distract yourself is a recipe for disaster – the thoughts will just come back stronger than ever.
So if you can’t just stop worrying, how are you ever supposed to stop this negative thought pattern? The key to the whole thing is mindfulness. Just like you don’t just quit a habit (you replace it with something better), you have to replace your worrying with something else.
In this video I’m giving you several techniques you can use to get a handle on your worry. These are simple things you can do in a moment as soon as you catch yourself stuck in the worry loop. Plus I’m teaching you how to cut worry off at the pass to help prevent it from ever getting started.
While we can never really cut worrying out of our lives, we certainly should not be going down that road whenever we have a spare moment to think. It’s very easy for worry to become a thought habit, especially in the crazy times we are living in right now. Take some time to learn how to get control of your worrying so that when we come out of this pandemic you aren’t stuck dragging your worries around with you all the time.
Even after this is all over, if you have a habit of worrying, you will find something else to worry about. Learn to get control so that you can improve your mental health now and for whatever the future brings.
