Work Life balance is touted as the holy grail, but what if there’s something better? We have been told over and over that if we want to be happy that we have to have balance in all things. But balance implies that all things are precisely equal, and I’m pretty sure that if everything was exactly balanced in your life, you wouldn’t actually be that happy. For example, if you were forced to spend exactly 8 hours working right after you had a baby, you probably wouldn’t be too happy about it.
Balanced? Yes. Happy? Not so much.
This is why it’s time to change the question from:
Do I have balance?
to Am I SATISFIED?
What you really need is to be happy about how you’re spending your time and what you’re focusing on. In order to do that you need to take a look at your life and see what’s working and what isn’t. In today’s video, I’m talking about what we really need to make us happy – despite what corporations think we ought to have – and how to figure out how to find it.
I’m giving you the one super simple tool that you need to figure all this out, and I’m teaching you how you can pick an area to focus on.
You can totally play along with today’s video so you can figure out what you need to work on by the end. So grab a piece of paper and a pen or pencil, and let’s get to work on making life better instead of just balanced.
