How to Get Work Life Balance
Work Life balance is touted as the holy grail, but what if there’s something better? We have been told over and over that if we want to be happy that we have to have balance in all things. But balance implies that all things are precisely equal, and I’m pretty sure that if everything was exactly balanced in your life, you wouldn’t actually be that happy. For example, if you were forced to spend exactly 8 hours working right after you had a baby, you probably wouldn’t be too happy about it.
Balanced? Yes. Happy? Not so much.
This is why it’s time to change the question from:
Do I have balance?
Am I SATISFIED?
What you really need is to be happy about how you’re spending your time and what you’re focusing on. In order to do that you need to take a look at your life and see what’s working and what isn’t. In today’s video, I’m talking about what we really need to make us happy – despite what corporations think we ought to have – and how to figure out how to find it.
