Mindsets aren’t just one or the other – it’s not so simple. Plus your mindset in one area doesn’t dictate your mindset for another area. Our brains are complex and so growth vs fixed is on a spectrum. Because of this, it can be difficult to spot when you’re getting in the way of your own growth.
So, I’m explaining how you can figure out where you have a fixed mindset around a topic and giving you tips about how you can change your way of thinking.
If you have a fixed mindset around an area of your life it can be very hard to work on changing that. You might have gone your whole life believing that you’re terrible in the kitchen, or that you can’t understand technology, or you’ll never be good at art. But that’s the thing, these are just beliefs. They aren’t the truth.
Scientists have shown that our brains remain moldable and changeable our entire lives. So yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks. You might just need to work a little harder or a little longer than another person does. No matter what, that skill that you want to learn is within your reach.
