When it comes to making a to do list, it seems like a pretty basic concept. However, there are several common pitfalls people have and they can really kill your productivity. Among these pitfalls are things like making your projects too big, putting goals on your list, or just not knowing how long something takes to do.

In this video, I’m breaking down some of the biggest issues when it comes to making a to do list, and giving you simple actions that you can take to overcome them. In addition to breaking down the pitfalls and giving you easy fixes, I’m also helping you with your motivation to keep moving forward.

The average person has 150 items on their to do list at any one given time. Now we might not write all of them down every day, but even if something is just floating around your head as a “someday” idea it’s contributing to your mental weight. This mental weight is one of the factors that leads to overwhelm. And overwhelm is a huge contributor to procrastination.

So you can see why it’s so important to understand how to make a to do list that doesn’t send you down this path in the first place, and to understand what tricks there are to help your brain deal with all this extra stuff it’s got floating around.
