Dealing with Stress and Depression during the Winter Holidays

Winter is coming! And so are the holidays. This time of year can be rough on your mental health. If you’re like me you struggle with the depression that comes from having less sun PLUS the stress that can come from the holidays.

There’s a lot of holidays crammed really close together this time of year and it can be a lot to do. Plus there’s often a lot of internal and external pressure to make them PERFECT. If you’ve been around here before you know by now that perfect doesn’t exist. But it can still be an internal struggle we face.

As if that’s not enough, you might also be dealing with Seasonal Affective Disorder – also known as SAD. This is basically depression brought on by the cold and lack of light brought to you by winter.

I personally deal with both of these issues every single year, and I know I’m not alone. That’s why I made this video. I include all of the tips and methods that I use to help get me through this emotional roller coaster of a season.

To help you cope I’m giving you 11 ways that you can use to combat the winter blues and how to deal with the holiday stress. Pick and choose what works best for you and make this the best winter season yet.

I’m not going to deny that winter is still not my favorite season – however, by combining these methods I manage to get through with a lot less misery than I used to cope with. Even if I’d rather be in the pool than on a sled, it doesn’t mean I can’t find joy this time of year. Sometimes you just have to work a little harder and make the season work for you.
