King

King is a 10 year old European Eagle Owl that belongs to Ash Cary. Ash runs One World Raptor Conservatory as well as the Knightwings educational program.

I saw this gorgeous owl at The Maryland Renaissance Festival where Ash was giving shows and had the birds on display in between. I was able to get so close to him and knew I had to draw him. He truly was king of the birds for me.

This print is taken from the original drawing which was done on 12×16 arches hot press watercolor paper using artist quality colored pencils.
